Deliver Us From Evil by David Baldacci
Apart from having a porno surname and being an absolute skax (Chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 most Beautiful People in the World in 1997), Baldacci can spin a decent yarn. Deliver Us From Evil is the second installment in his series of novels about a secret agent named Shaw.
Shaw is a difficult character for the reader to relate to but that could very well be Baldacci's intention. He's a pretty mysterious dude and a bit emo sometimes. He's also a stink fulla to chicks but they still wanna be on his D. He can fuck shit up though and at least he doesn't say cringeworthy cheesy shit that some authors make their characters say. On the whole he is a good secret agent to base a crime thriller franchise around.
You don't need to read the first book about Shaw 'The Whole Truth' but it would help as there is a bit of reference and it does explain quite a bit of Shaw's backstory. Baldacci has left it open for more books in this series which pleases me. A few nice twists as always and a nice European setting make for a great lil' read.
